Izarra's New Glasses!

Yesterday we took Izarra to pick up her glasses! She was so excited to get out of school because she knew we had to go pick them up. She needs glasses to help her with her Astigmatism. When she came home she asked me, "Mom can we go get my glasses now?" I told her, "No, we have to let Teenie (Anthony) take his nap and we'll go after he wakes up." So she was fine with it, but little did I know that Teenie was going to take a short nap. As soon as she seen that he was awake she ran to ask me if we could leave. I told her that I was going to make dinner and then we would leave for sure. So, we made dinner and got the kids ready to leave. In the car all the way to the Eye Dr, she kept telling her brother that we were going to pick up her glasses. We finally get there and she says, "Mom, what are we doing here?" I laughed and asked if she was serious. She looked at me and said, "Why are you laughing at me, I'm not funny." lol. Anyway, I told her we were there for her glasses and then she remembered and was super excited again. Here she is waiting impatiently to be called.
They told us it would be a five minute appointment but it actually took about 30 minutes. I'm pretty sure she was nervous because she couldn't keep still. They finally called her in and she was more than ready and still Super Excited. They measured her glasses and made sure they fit her well, she then picked out a case for her glasses and off we went. Here she is with her glasses on...the 'new' Izarra!
She absolutely LOVES her glasses! I think they suit her well. She looks so much cuter than usual! She told us, "I can see now mom!" lol, it reminded me of the Arthur Episode where Arthur got his glasses and kept talking about the things he could see. She came home and showed everyone her glasses and told them how much she loves them. She was excited to go to school the next day to show all her friends and teachers her new glasses. I am glad she loves them, I love them on her. I'm happy that she is not embarrassed to be wearing glasses and being a little 'different' from everyone else in her class!
